Winter Is Finally Here!

Smeegle was lonely so Ezri had to go visit the poor doggy.

This picture was taken after daddy shoveled some snow on her. I was mad but Ezri didn't cry or get mad. She puts up with her daddy picking on her so well.

Well winter has taken forever to get here this year. We finally got our first REAL snowfall of the year. We didn't spend much time outside but Ezri loved it! She love feeling the snow with her bare hands....."It's cold," she says.

Precious Moments

It is not often I do a post with no pictures but I want to remember this. I was sitting on our couch today talking to a friend on the phone while Ezri watched her Micky Mouse Club House DVD. Out of no where she just wanted me to hold her on my lap while she watched her show. I was still talking to my friend and I looked down for a moment and saw that Ezri was holding my pointer finger in her little hand. This really touched my heart. I know that I will not have to many more moments like this with her and I want to remember it forever. She loves me and finds comfort in my touch. It is times like these when I realize that being a mom isn't a thankless job. What a reward! This short moment made me feel so loved and needed. It was like one of those unexpected hugs she gives me every now and then.

Another great moment has come every night before we put Ezri to bed. Before I put her in her crib I sing to her the song, "You are my Sunshine." She has always found comfort in this song because I have been singing it to her since she was a baby. I sing it to her when she is hurt or sick as well. Now she is starting to sing along. It is so cute. No one can love a child as much as I love mine.

Christmas Dress Up And Play Time

Ever since Grandma Gayla bought this left over Halloween costume for dress up Ezri wants to wear it the whole time we go see them.
Abby got this pink dress up outfit from Santa ans she loved wearing it. Emily is wearing our stockings on as shoes. It was funny.
Gayla made all of the girls these tu-tus....Ezri is all girl.

Making Cookies For Santa!

Today I undertook the task of making a new family tradition. We made cookies for Santa. It was messy but Ezri had a lot of fun. I did too. I had to change Ezri's clothes because her first shit got covered in flour. When it was time to decorate them Ezri picked a star. Lately that is her favorite shape. She was pointing out the star every time I would use that cookie cutter. It has been a long time since I have made and decorated sugar cookies. Sasha came over to help and decorate some cookies of her own. They all turned out great. I really think Santa is going to love the cookie Ezri made for him. :)

Mickey Mouse Waffles

We got this cute waffle iron from my Dad and Vonette for Christmas yesterday. We had to make some this morning. Eric made some yummy cinnamon waffles. They turned out great and we all enjoyed them a lot. Thanks Dad and Vonette. Now we can get rid of our crappy old one. I can see Ezri always wanting Mickey waffles now.

Christmas Dinner With The Kerrs

Because we don't have time to see everyone on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day I invited my Dad's family for a turkey dinner and gift exchange. This is the second year we have done this, and I think it is what we will do from now on. There was a first this year...I got to make a turkey. It looked beautiful and tasted pro. I have to thank Eric's grandma for giving me a roasting pan. We were just going to use a disposable one but she is just too nice. My sister's family also came. She did a great job on the ham. We got some great gifts and the kids had loads of fun playing with them. My half sister Krystal made us this cute book called 'Little Ez. Ridding Hood.' It was the story of little red ridding hood, but stared Ezri as little red and Smeegle as the big bad wolf. It was so creative. She even took pictures off our blog from Halloween and used them for the illustrations. I also had to put a couple of photos in this post of us getting ready. Ezri is so cute. When I was getting my hair done (thanks Sasha) Ezri had to play in my makeup. She is 100% girl. I gave her a blush brush and a mirror to play with. She acted like she knew just what she was doing. She didn't like that some of the makeup was off limits and will continue to be off limits to her for a long time. ;)

Temple Square Lights

We decided to take the Front Runner to SLC instead of driving. It was very Christmas like. You know talking a train to go see lights. It was fun.

This family outing like all of them was priceless. I really love being on the temple grounds as a family. Because of what happened in that Temple almost eight years ago we will be together forever. I am so glad we have gotten so many wonderful things done as a family so far this holiday season. I am so looking forward to Christmas this year. It can't come fast enough.

Candy Christmas Village

Scott, Sasha, Brent, Jackie, Eric, Ezri, and I got together to make Christmas gram cracker houses together. Her we are hard at work.

This is the house Eric and I made. Eric was very helpful and made sure everyone had what they needed. He was mixing frosting making hot chocolate and much more.

This house was our winner. Scott and Sasha worked hard and did a great job. They won by a landslide.

Our little Christmas village. This was a first for everyone, and will most likely become a tradition. Ezri was so good. She just sat in her highchair the whole time as good as could be watching us....well I guess all the candy she got to eat was a big part of keeping her so happy. :) Good times.

We have cousin Karissa's second Birthday Party today. For the record I have to say....I LOVE THIS OUTFIT! In three months Ezri will be two.....I can't believe my baby is gone. However, my baby has grown into one amazing toddler. Guess I can't complain. I have loved every moment of being this angels Mommy, and will continue to love every moment to come.

In Ogden they have an outdoor Christmas Village so we decided to go.

It was cold but the snow made for some good pictures.

Festival Of Trees

This year Ezri got to do some of the many projects and fun they have for kids. Here she is making some reindeer antlers.

Ezri didn't want to ware her antlers so Daddy sported them around. Here he is breaking a rule.
Ezri also got to paint her first ornament . It is a Christmas tree. The part she liked best was dipping her brush in the water instead of the paint and putting that on her ornament.

Two fish were caught. The had fish cut out of paper with little suckers on them. I thought they were really cute.
We then walked around and looked and the candy houses and trees while Ezri ate her loot.
I thought this display was funny. A trailer park out of candy instead of a house. Clever.
The biggest candy house was this Washington DC capital. Amazing.
My favorite was this log cabin. Is there something more Christmasy than this?
The Harry Potter tree and display was one of my favorite trees. Very cool.

GO BRONCOS! Scott and I loved this tree.

This quilt was awesome I would love to make one some day. It is a count down till Christmas with little ornaments that you put on the tree everyday. There are pockets to keep those ornaments in labeled from one to twenty-five.
Ezri loved her Elf wand. She would just walk around with us waving it non-stop.

I love the holiday season! I work so hard to get all of the Christmas shopping done and presents wrapped by the first of December so that I can have stress-free fun like this with my family. We got to the Festival of Trees early enough to avoid a huge crowd. We didn't have to wait in line for Santa Clause very long or even to do the kid crafts. I loved that Ezri was old enough this year to participate in some of the activities they have there. We all really did have a ton of fun. After we got done at the Festival we shared a great dinner at Red Robin. Thanks for coming with us Scott and Sasha.

Our Computer Toddler

So today Ezri goes into Daddy's computer room, turns his computer on (by herself), and comes out of the room grabs my hand and pulls me to the chair. It was so cute I had to let her up. Right when I sat her down she pulled herself right up to the keyboard and started typing away. Every now and then she would move the mouse and talk to the screen. When Smeegle came in the room she just looked down at him and said, "Hi." She also knew I was taking some pictures so a couple of times she would turn to me and say, "Cheese." It was so cute. When she messed up Daddy's computer a little I had to take her down, and she didn't like it at all. However, this makes a great memory.

Ok so this was a very tall slide that I thought Eric would go down WITH Ezri. Turns out he just sends her down alone. I was not happy, but Ezri did just fine.

I think this was Ezri's favorite part. This was a box of corn for the kids to play in.

Ezri loved it so much she started to swim in it. We spent a lot of time here.

After Ezri was done playing she just laid down in the kennels and drank her juice. I think we should make her big girl bed out of corn. :)

I had to carve Karissa's pumpkin because my mom broke out in hives on her hands after cleaning him out. Karissa said, "Thank you." when we were all done with her pumpkin. She really is a sweet heart.

We had a great time with my family at this fall carnival. We were all very dirty and tiered when we got home. The kids played hard, and the adults had a hard time keeping up. :) I am so glad we were able to do this. I love October!

P.S. Can you believe we took 301 pictures? When we got home I narrowed it down to 88. ;)

Halloween Party 2011

Potion Punch with a touch of brain.
For food we had pumpkin teeth, monster munch, sweet rodents, rotten cheese and crackers, poison apples, and sweet and sour eyeballs. Yummy! Thank you Melissa for helping me prepare the food.

I revived the baroness.

Trevor and Melissa were clergy.
As well as Jenna and Randy. Jenna is one week from her due date. We had 5 pregnant women at our party this year. That is a new record.

Smeegle just loved hanging out begging for food.
Brandon was a cow and won best costume and Tonya his bride to be was a farmer.
The minute to win it games were great! Everyone had a great time. We did boys against girls and the boys one in the tie breaker.

So stacking 3 golf balls on top of one another is not easy. Bruce at least got a stack of two. I couldn't even do that.

The tie breaker game....was moving a cookie from your forehead to your mouth without using your hands. Brandon won the game for the guys, but Jamie put up a good fight.

What a great party this year. I am so glad that so many friends were able to come. I am exhausted, but it is all worth it. We have such great friends and family. Thank you all for making the party such a success. Oh and Jamie thanks for the help with clean up. I am going to sleep great tonight....I hope. :)

Pumpkin Carving

Time for the carving. Ezri was wondering what we were doing up there.

This year Mommy had to help Ezri put her Princess Pumpkin Head together. It was not easy poking those pieces into the pumpkin.

Ezri made the cutest little grunting sound as she was trying to push the pieces in.

Last piece....Ta-da.

Scott and Sasha were sifting through pumpkin guts so we could eat the seeds. Ezri didn't care much for the feel of it.

The seeds however where fun to grab, and try to eat. They were not cooked or cleaned at this point so it was gross. We didn't let her play in them for long.

The "Great" Pumpkin Patch Post

We all had a great time at the pumpkin patch. This will defiantly become a family tradition. What I loved most is that it wasn't just a pumpkin patch. There was other ways for kids to have fun like the maze. I can't believe how many pictures I came home with. Better to have to many pictures than not enough I guess. :) Good times.

When you look at the pictures it looks like it was all fun and games, but Ezri didn't behave as well as Lilly. We had to leave at half time because Ezri didn't want to stay in the area around us. She was fussy the whole time. On top of that I had a major panic attack on the way there. I am glad we tried, but I think it will be a while before we take her to a game again. Ezri discovered how to use a paint brush and pallet. Good thing the paint was all dried up or we would have had a big mess on our hands. I don't realize how closely Ezri watches me until times like this.

Tug-O-War

I love love love this. Ezri plays tug-o-war with Smeegle and they are both so cute. Smeegle just lets her pull him around for a while and tugs ever so gently. If he is playing with Eric he is loud and rough. I can't believe how he knows to be soft with Ezri.

Ezri would just laugh and pulled him around the room a few times. They both had fun.

Smeegle won. Ezri fell right on her tummy, laughs, and gets back up for more. You have never seen a girl love her doggy more. Or a dog so sweet.

Eighteen Months Old And Growing Way To Fast

Ezri is already eighteen months old! I say this all the time but I really can't believe how much she has grown. She is 23 lbs. and almost 3 feet tall. One of my favorite things to hear is her learning new words. "Thank you." is the cutest thing she says by far.

Ezri loves to eat like a big girl. She has been eating pizza and loads of other finger foods without us having to cut it up for a while now. In fact she insists on eating just about everything by herself. She is even getting better at eating with a spoon.
Dipping her fingers in the sauce and licking it off her fingers. Yummy.

Eric is starting to love the fact that I blog. He has always believed that it is good to keep a record, but never show much interest in helping me blog. During dinner tonight he took these pictures, and told me they were for the blog! I am glad he appreciates all the effort I am putting into our family record, and is now taking a bigger part in the process.

We didn't know how she would do, but she LOVED it. I was so glad. She has tried so many new things this year, and is growing up so fast.

My allergies kicked in so I was not having the best time, but I am so glad Ezri can enjoy this stuff with her Daddy. Thank you Kelly and Jamie for sharing this with us. It was just as fun as last year. We have such great friends.

Jackie and Brent sale expensive puppies. They brought three over so we could play with them. Puppies are so cute and small! I love being able to play with them without having to worry about all the responsibility of raising them.

My Crocheting Toddler

One night I was working on a crochet project on the couch. I had the tote that I keep all my crochet stuff in on the coffee table, and Ezri decided to pick out a hook and a ball of yarn of her own. She got up on the couch, sat right next to me, and for about 30 minutes thought she was crocheting just like me. She is so amazing. I can't wait to see what she does next.

Scott And Sasha's Big Day

Scott and Sasha had me make their wedding cake. I called my cake buddy Melissa so her and her sister-in-law came over to help. We hit a few bumps working with the black, but I think it turned out great. Now I can say I made my first wedding cake. Too bad the the people at the reception center didn't put it in the fridge. It started to melt, and didn't look very good by the time we got there.

I am surprised we got a family picture. Ezri just wanted down to run around, and play with her cousins.

Dinosaur Park

Two angels all ready for a dinosaur adventure. My mom called me, and invited us to go to the Dinosaur park with them. I wasn't sure how Ezri would do as when we took her to the zoo she was afraid of the dinosaurs there. We didn't plan this but it just so happened to be free admission day. BONUS!

This park has really grown since my last visit 9 years ago. After looking around in the building we took a long walk to see the outdoor display. The closest Ezri would get is pointing at the ones she saw.
All she wanted to do was push Karissa's stroller.

Kameron tried to show Ezri a very scary dinosaur. She just wanted to hold on for dear life.It was very funny. Ezri would see a dinosaur, point at it, and then start pushing the stroller. She kept us moving quickly. At one point she was just jumping along the dirt path as she pushed away. The one time she did let go of the stroller was when she heard Karissa fussing behind her. She ran over just to give her a hug. Such a SWEET baby!
After a long hot walk the girls enjoyed some ice cream.

To start off our Roy Days celebration we invited the Foust family to come for a cheep swim at the Aquatic Center. Eric thinks everyone is hot for his bod. I will let you guys be the judge of that. ;)

Ezri loves to go down the little frog slide. She can do it all by herself. We both stay very close just in case....But she does great!

I forgot my camera when we left for the carnival, her is Ezri playing with the toys she won at the pick a duck game. First she got this sparkly baton.

This is a photo of the picture we had a guy draw of Ezri while we were there. I think it is a pretty good likeness. Way better than the guy did of us last year at the Davis County Fair.

We all had a ton of fun. Eric got to eat some salmon from the salmon bake they had. It is the first fish he has had in like 5 years. Ezri tried some, and liked it. I guess it is now two to one on the fish liking. I am going to be voted off the island.

Ezri LOVES Spending Time With Smeegle

So glad we got this on camera! This is the first time Ezri was able to sit on Smeegle. The cool thing was that Smeegle simply continued to chew his bone like nothing had changed. It is so sweet how he puts up with her.
No stop smiles all around. Even when Smeegle stood up, and made her fall off all she did was laugh.

Ezri really loves this dog. She treats him like a big teddy bear. She will hug, kiss, and grab his face to make him kiss her.
So sweet.
The picture is unique. When Ezri usually grabs his face and puts it to hers she keeps her mouth closed. As you can see her mouth is wide open just as he licked her. A little gross. After the kiss she just laughed.

Our Puppy's 4th Birthday

Smeegle doesn't get as much attention as he use to. However, I still think he's a pretty spoiled mutt. This year for his birthday we got him a new bed for his kennel....

This is a cute story I had to share. The other night when Eric was watching Ezri she decided one pair of pajamas wasn't good enough. She got into the pile of clean clothes, and tried so hard to put these on all by herself. I am so glad Eric got some pictures. I would have hated to miss this. :) I love being a mother!

Our Family At Girls Camp

The lodge we got to sleep in. It was so nice because we all stayed nice, and warm all night long. At one point I was too warm. This was our first camp out as a family, and we all had a lot of fun. EVEN ME! We didn't stay the last night, but I really think I'm making progress. :)

Daddy testing out the new/used hiking pack/stroller. So there wouldn't be any surprises come hike time. Ezri found it pretty cozy.
While we were the the toilet broke so Macguyver Eric fixed it with tape and a plastic spoon.

Ezri loved picking up EVERYTHING.
Ezri drinking Daddy's water while he babysits Olivia. She was one of the other leaders baby. The leaders were so glad to have Eric there. He helped with anything and everything. He stayed up to help them put out the fire and close the gate, and was the first guy up to start the morning fire. This man was born to camp.
Ezri loves Megan. She was giving her fives.

Ezri is her daddy's daughter. She just loved camping. Running around as free as a bird in nature.

I can't believe how entertained a child can be by rocks and dirt. I have never see Ezri get so dirty. Better yet she loved every minute of it.

Eric was so excited. He has been wanting to take Ezri hiking for the longest time.

Here we are so happy to be together. At the end of the hike we reach a beautiful water fall. I took a much need rest on a rock. Ezri played in the mini waterfall, Eric rested, explored the waterfall, and dipped his hat in the water to wear on the way back.
This is the mini waterfall Ezri couldn't get enough of.
It was really so refreshing sitting at the base of the waterfall after a hard hike. It was so cool and the mist from the falls felt so good on my face.

This is the rock face we had to come down to get to the waterfall. I really can't believe Eric could do it with Ezri on his back. I had to use some of my first aid skills on one of my beehives. She was messing around in the waterfall, and slipped on some rocks. She scratched her leg up pretty good. I patched her up with the help of the other leaders, and she was just fine. Lesson learned. Ezri, just so the same thing doesn't happen to you....BE CAREFUL IN, AND AROUND WATERFALLS! THE ROCKS ARE SLICK!

Now we needed to hike back. Eric was very proud of his stick. It helped him on the way back up the rocks.

After the hike, some food, and more running around. Ezri finally went down for a late nap. When we came in to check on her this is what we found. I guess she wanted the blanket over her face. I love how her little hands are sticking out.

Pioneer Day 2011

Here are a couple of Ezri's 24th of July weekend hair dues.

The 24th landed on a Sunday this year so the first thing we did was go to church. There is a great blog with cute hair styles for kids. This is my first attempt at a ribbon star. It wasn't perfect, however I still think it turned out way cute.

I put Ezri in her cute patriotic dress again. Doesn't she look so adorable?
After church my Mom and Jon came over for a BBQ. It was fabulous. We ate stakes, grilled corn, and my mom's famous potato salad. After the BBQ we spent a little time outside. Ezri was running in the grass when (to all of our surprise) the sprinklers came on. It was so funny to see the look on her face. She loved it so much that she spent the next half hour running in and out of the sprinklers. It turned out to be some great unplanned fun.
About an hour before we had to go to fireworks we put Ezri down for a little nap. This is how we found her when we went in to wake her.
Fireworks A La Jason. Our friend Trevor's brother, Jason, had bought a ton of fireworks this year, and we were invited to come watch the show. It really was cool. Jason and his fiends put on a great performance. I was very impressed. You wouldn't believe the turn out he had. Bravo!

Unlike the 4th of July firework show we attended Ezri stayed right next to us. She had a good time watching the ones that didn't make much noise. When we got to the ones that popped and lunched into the sky she would run to us or dive for cover on her blanket. She never cried, but made sure she stayed close.

Eric ran into a family that use to be in his ward growing up, and they made some delicious popcorn. Ezri didn't want to stop eating it. On that note neither did Eric.
It was so sweet. Ezri was so sleepy she laid down on the blanket, and tried to sleep during the show. All the noise kept her up, but even so she stayed in great spirits. She would even clap with the crowed between each firework set. I really believe we have the sweetest baby in all the world. I can't get enough of her.
